Easy BBQ Shredded Chicken
Yield: 6 servings
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 3 or 4 breasts)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4-6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (14.5 oz) can chicken broth
- 1 (18 oz) bottle barbeque sauce
- 1/3 cup zesty Italian dressing
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Notes: At the end of the this recipe is a list of ingredients for 5 lbs of chicken (2.5 time the original recipe). When Natalie made the larger recipe it generated too much liquid.
Preparation: Chop onion and mince garlic.
Directions:
- Bring everything to a boil over medium heat in a large pot.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 90 minutes, flipping chicken and scrapping the bottom of the pot occasionally.
- Shred chicken in the pot by poking at it with a wooden spoon or using two forks, allowing it to absorb the remaing liquid in the pot.
